Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu spoke today with Brigadier General (Res.) Gal Hirsch, Coordinator for the Hostages and the Missing, at the exact moment when hostages Romi Gonen, Doron Steinbrecher, and Emily Damari were in the hands of IDF forces within the Gaza Strip.

“Gal, do you hear me?” Netanyahu began.

“Yes, hello Prime Minister,” Hirsch replied. “I am at our operations center, alongside the security establishment, including the Mossad, the ISA, the IDF, and our entire team. I am pleased to report that our hostages have been transferred to our forces and, at this very moment, are crossing the border into our territory. I am deeply moved.”

“Have they already crossed the border into Israel?” the Prime Minister asked.

“It is happening right now, as we speak,” Hirsch confirmed.

“When it happens, let me know the moment they are officially within our borders,” Netanyahu responded. “This is an incredibly emotional day. These are the first hostages being brought home during this phase. Gal, I want you to tell them: Romi, Doron, and Emily – an entire nation embraces you. Welcome home.”

Netanyahu continued, “We all know, they have endured unimaginable suffering. They are stepping out of darkness and into light. They are truly transitioning from bondage to freedom. This moment is the result of the dedication and bravery of our heroic fighters – the heroes of Israel. I also want to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed to making this possible. Keep your forward command centers active until all the hostages are brought back – this remains one of our primary objectives in this war. I want to emphasize to you and to everyone listening now: we will accomplish all of our war objectives.”

He added, “Right now, it is crucial that the Authority in the Prime Minister’s Office ensures these individuals receive the full support package they need to reintegrate and settle back into their lives here at home. This is a tremendous moment, a deeply emotional moment. Congratulations to everyone involved.”

Hirsch responded, “We will embrace them, and we will not rest until we bring everyone home.”

“Thank you, Gal. Thank you; excellent work. Thank you,” Netanyahu concluded.
