The first three hostages held by Hamas for 15 months have been handed over to the Red Cross, marking a significant milestone on the initial day of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the terror organization.

The hostages—Romi Gonen, Emily Damari, and Doron Steinbrecher—were identified as the first to be freed on Sunday.

One of the returnees’ hand was injured and received initial treatment.

Officials anticipate that an additional 30 hostages will be released, though no specific timeline for their release has been announced.

The ceasefire was originally scheduled to begin at 1:30 a.m., but a delay occurred when Hamas failed to provide the names of the 33 hostages to be freed during the first stage of the agreement.

In response, Israel has compiled a list of 90 Palestinian detainees, comprising both men and women, who will be released as part of the exchange for the hostages.
