The Biala Rebbe, son of the late Rebbe of Biala, the Mevaser Tov, who passed away in the month of Iyar last year, has instructed his chassidim not to publish pictures of him in newspapers or any media outlets.

Sources relate that the Rebbe, who recently married off his daughter, was shocked to see that pictures from the wedding were published in the media. This upset the Rebbe, who, after the Sheva Brachos, called upon the trustees and leadership of the Biala mosdos and ordered them not to allow such pictures to be published.

The Rebbe reminded them of the longstanding prohibition set by his predecessors, the previous Rebbes of Biala, who forbade the taking and publishing of any photographs. He insisted that the leadership take measures to ensure that no pictures are taken, regardless of the nature of the event, whether it is a simcha or a general gathering. He emphasized that it is strictly forbidden to take pictures that will later be distributed to the public.

The Rebbe further clarified that if the Biala leadership believes there is an event that is important to capture, such as one for donors, or pictures that will be shown to donors, it is crucial to ensure that these images remain within the Biala kehillah and are not made public through the press.

Not long ago, during a groundbreaking ceremony held in Beitar, the Rebbe spoke out against the practice of taking photos. He pointed out that his father lived a quiet life, free from publicity and without photographs.
