A global survey by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) reveals that nearly half of the world’s population holds deeply rooted antisemitic beliefs.

According to the findings, approximately 46 percent of adults worldwide—around 2.2 billion people—harbor such views, based on a survey of over 58,000 individuals across 103 countries and regions. This marks more than a two-fold increase from a decade ago and represents the highest level of antisemitism ever recorded by the ADL in its global tracking efforts.

The study also highlighted that 20% of people worldwide have never heard of the Holocaust, while less than half (48%) recognize its historical authenticity.

Younger individuals under 35 displayed higher levels of antisemitic sentiment, according to the report.

“Antisemitism is nothing short of a global emergency, especially in a post-October 7 world. We are seeing these trends play out from the Middle East to Asia, from Europe to North and South America,” said ADL CEO Jonathan A. Greenblatt.

“It’s clear that we need new government interventions, more education, additional safeguards on social media, and new security protocols to prevent antisemitic hate crimes.”

On a more hopeful note, the report revealed that 57% of respondents acknowledge that hatred toward Jews is a significant global issue, and 67% oppose the idea of their countries boycotting Israeli products and businesses.
