It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Dovid Yehuda Wertheimer zt”l at Maayanei HaYeshua Hospital in Bnei Brak. He was 54.

Rav Wertheimer, one of the prominent talmidei chachomim and maggidei shiur in Modiin Illit, was a son-in-law of Rav Shimon Galei zt”l. He succumbed to a severe illness that he battled over the past year.

Rav Wertheimer was born on the 28th of Av in 1970 to his father, Rav Shlomo Wertheimer, and his mother, Leah Glick. In his youth, he learned at Yeshivas Kol Yaakov in Yerushalayim.

Upon reaching marriageable age, he married his wife, Sarah Miriam, daughter of Rav Shimon Galai. Together, they established a home filled with Torah and yiras Shamayim in Modiin Illit.

Throughout his life, Rav Wertheimer toiled in limud haTorah with remarkable diligence. He was a distinguished member of the Torah community in Modiin Illit and served as a rebbi and marbitz Torah in various yeshivos, including Zichron Hillel and Heichal Yosef, where he delivered shiurim. In these yeshivos, he was deeply beloved by his talmidim, treating each one with exceptional care and dedication.

For over 20 years, Rav Wertheimer also delivered the Daf Yomi shiur at Beis Medrash Heichal Yitzchak.

Despite enduring tremendous suffering, he always carried a radiant countenance, concealing his tzaar and maintaining unwavering bitachon.

He is survived by his wife and eight children, of whom he merited to marry off only four. His youngest daughter is just 12 years old.

The levayah was held last night at his home of Rechov Chafetz Chaim in Modiin Illit, followed by kevurah at the Ponovezher Bais Hachaim in Bnei Brak.

Yehi zichro boruch.
