On Sunday, the social media platform X suspended the Hebrew-language account of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, merely a day after it was created.

Before the account was deactivated, Khamenei had made two posts. His second post, shared on Sunday, stated, “The Zionist regime made a mistake, and erred in its calculation regarding Iran. We will make it understand what power, ability, initiative and desire the Iranian nation has.”

His first post, published on Shabbos, began with the phrase, “In the name of Allah the merciful.”

This initial post received substantial engagement, amassing over half a million views, thousands of likes, and nearly 2,000 comments, predominantly from Israelis who ridiculed the Iranian leader.

Khamenei, known for his frequent threats against Israel, has previously utilized his main X account to post several messages in Hebrew, continuing his aggressive stance towards the Jewish state.

While the platform, formerly known as Twitter, faced backlash for permitting Khamenei to routinely threaten Israel, the U.S., and other Western nations, it simultaneously banned accounts belonging to figures like former U.S. President Donald Trump.

X has previously restricted accounts linked to the Supreme Leader; however, it has never suspended Khamenei’s official account.
