Interior Minister Moshe Arbel of Shas visited Tzefas on Thursday, expressing deep sorrow over Israel’s inability to bring back the hostages, which include members of the Bibas family.

On October 7, Hamas terrorists abducted Shiri and Yarden Bibas, along with their children Ariel, who was four years old at the time, and Kfir, who was nine months old, from their home in Kibbutz Nir Oz.

“The Bibas family is a beloved family with a rich heritage, and today we mark the birthday of Yarden Bibas, who has been in Hamas captivity for over a year,” said Arbel.

“This is a heartbreaking and painful situation. As Yom Kippur approaches, we must repent. I say that we have sinned because we didn’t do enough,” he stated.

“Because as long as they’re not home, it means we likely didn’t do enough. I’m confident we can all agree on that. May we, with God’s help, see everyone return home—both the living and the dead,” he concluded.
