Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant paid a visit today to Unit 9900, part of the Intelligence Corps responsible for collecting visual intelligence. During his visit, he spoke about Israel’s intention to respond to the significant ballistic missile strike launched by Iran last week.

While there, Gallant was briefed on the unit’s current operations, particularly regarding preparations for recent airstrikes in Lebanon. He also discussed the readiness levels across the various fronts involved in the ongoing conflict.

Addressing Unit 9900, Gallant expressed his admiration: “I have a lot of appreciation for what the unit and the entire formation are doing, which is very, very impressive. In fact, thanks to you, we see the entire Middle East – Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iraq and everywhere else, we see very precisely and clearly, very focused wherever we want.”

Gallant also spoke about the recent Iranian missile assault, saying, “You saw the attacks that the Iranians launched against us a short time ago, these attacks were aggressive, but these attacks failed because they were not precise attacks. The Air Force was not harmed, all the routes are functioning, continuity is maintained, not a single plane was harmed, not a single soldier was harmed, not a single civilian was hurt.”

He contrasted Iran’s lack of precision with the capabilities of the IDF: “On the other hand, when we talk about your abilities, of the IDF, of the Intelligence Division and of the Air Force and the entire system – the accuracy at all these points is very, very focused, the ability to attack is very great, and as we have done until now in the war in all the other sectors – whoever attacks we will be hurt and will pay a price. Our attack will be deadly, precise, and above all surprising. They will not understand what happened and how it happened, they will see the results,” Gallant stressed.
