Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu had a conversation this evening with U.S. President Joe Biden, marking their first discussion in about six weeks. Vice President Kamala Harris, who is also the Democratic nominee for president, was present during the call.

Netanyahu was joined on the call by several key members of his team, including Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, Military Secretary Roman Gofman, Chief of Staff Tzachi Braverman, and Gil Reich, the deputy head of the National Security Council.

The conversation, which lasted 50 minutes, primarily focused on Israel’s upcoming response to Iran’s recent assault on the Jewish state. Last week, Iran launched 181 ballistic missiles targeting Israel.

Prior to this call, the Prime Minister’s Office revealed that former U.S. President Donald Trump reached out to Netanyahu last week of his own accord to “congratulate him on the determined and powerful actions that Israel has taken against Hezbollah.” Republican Senator Lindsey Graham also took part in that conversation.

According to The Wall Street Journal, U.S. officials have expressed frustration over Israel’s reluctance to share details of its planned response to Iran. The Biden Administration has been advising Israel against targeting Iran’s oil or nuclear infrastructure, concerned that such actions could ignite a broader conflict in the region.
