Leaders of the anti-judicial reform protests in Israel vowed to continue protesting even after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s speech on Monday evening announcing a suspension of the reform to allow for negotiations with the opposition. According to the left-wing organizers, they’re continuing the protests until the judicial reform legislation is permanently shelved. One protest leader, Roi Neuman, even said outright that “our goal is to replace Prime Minister Netanyahu.” Following Netanyahu’s speech on Monday evening, protest leaders wrote on Twitter: “The announcements by the prime minister and his extremist partners are a concession of their intention to re-enact the dictatorship’s laws in the next Knesset session, harming the economy and the security of the country.” “In the face of the attempt to turn Israel into a dictatorship, millions will take to the streets and defend the State of Israel and the Declaration of Independence.” (YWN Israel Desk – Jerusalem)
