The Belzer Rebbe’s secretary, HaRav Moshe Ringel, informed the members of the chassidus on Monday that the Belzer Rebbe suffered a minor stroke a few weeks ago. The announcement comes after several weeks during which the Rebbe rarely went out in public and seemed weak. The announcement stated: “As is known, the public is worried about the situation of the Belzer Rebbe. Therefore we want to convey that all tests were carried out by the best doctors and Baruch Hashem no dangerous findings were discovered. What was found is that apparently the Rebbe suffered a minor stroke a few weeks ago, which affected the Rebbe’s movement.” “We hope that very soon the Rebbe will be restored to good health. The public is requested to continue to daven for the Rebbe’s refuah sheleimah.” The Rebbe’s name for tefillah is Rebbe Yissachar Dov ben Miriam b’toch sha’ar cholei Yisrael.
