Israel on Monday crossed the grim milestone of 7,000 COVID-19 deaths, according to Health Ministry data.

A total of 7,030 people in Israel have died from the disease since the pandemic first reached the borders of the Jewish state.

Over the previous 24 hour period, 6,621 new coronavirus cases were registered, making the total number of infections in Israel since the start of the pandemic at 1,059,518.
