No matter who you are or where in the world you live, one thing is clear: The year that passed from last Pesach to this one has been… unique.    Corona-related lockdowns have had a particularly devastating impact on Israel’s poor. Unemployment rates continue to soar, and to add insult to injury, the most expensive holiday of the year comes in just one day. Many families in Israel are at a loss as to how to pay their rent and tuition fees when they have lost their income. With just hours remaining until the holiday, they have been unable to shop for supplies. Many cannot even afford meat for seder night. Vaad HaRabbanim’s Kimcha Depischa campaign is a time-honored tradition which helps provide these families with the essentials they need: chickens, potatoes, plastic goods, and more. This has always been necessary but this year it is more desperately needed than ever. Donors to the fund will be prayed for by name by Rav Chaim Kanievsky erev Pesach.  In just hours, we will all sit at our Pesach seders. Some planned to visit Israel but were unable to due to travel restrictions. Some will feel the lack of presence of a loved one who was taken by COVID this year. Though hope is on the horizon, everyone has been through something since Pesach 2020. Those who donate here can rest assured that somewhere in Israel, a child is eating a delicious Pesach meal thanks to them. That just before the entrance of the chag, the Gadol HaDor is praying for them. And it is these meaningful moments which bring comfort after a long, hard year.   CLICK HERE TO DONATE CLICK HERE TO SEE THE FULL CAMPAIGN
