JERUSALEM (JTA) – Israel’s Sephardic Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef issued a ruling that religious Jews must leave their cell phones turned on during Shabbat in order to receive coronavirus updates, in order that the Health Ministry can immediately inform people that they may have been exposed to the virus and need to quarantine.
