Discussions are reportedly in progress regarding a possible visit by Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu to meet U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington as soon as next month, according to Hebrew media outlets.

The two leaders had a conversation last week, where Netanyahu expressed gratitude to Trump for his role in facilitating the six-week ceasefire and hostage release agreement. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, “the two decided to meet in Washington soon.”

In a weekend interview, Trump confirmed the plans to meet with Netanyahu “fairly shortly,” although he did not specify an exact timeline. Should the visit take place in February, it would coincide with the initial six-week period of the ceasefire arrangement that Trump played a significant part in finalizing.

Netanyahu has traveled abroad sparingly since the onset of the war with Hamas on October 7, 2023. His most recent international appearance was at the United Nations in September 2024. Additionally, Netanyahu underwent prostate surgery last month, and sources indicate that his health may play a role in determining the timing of the visit.
