TikTok has returned to functionality in the United States after President Trump revealed that he would extend the 90-day timeline previously imposed for the company to secure a U.S.-based buyer.

Following a unanimous decision by the Supreme Court allowing the potential ban of TikTok to move forward, the platform ceased its U.S. operations late Saturday night.

Earlier today, President Trump announced plans to sign an executive order on Monday. This order would extend the timeframe for TikTok to identify a U.S. buyer and ensure that companies facilitating access to the app would not be held liable.

Shortly after this announcement, TikTok restored its services within the United States, expressing gratitude for the president’s intervention.

A message on the app welcomed users back, stating, “Thanks for your patience and support. As a result of President Trump’s efforts, TikTok is back in the U.S.!”

Although current users can once again access the platform, TikTok remains absent from both the Apple and Google app stores, preventing new installations on other devices.

Should the president proceed with the executive order, TikTok would still be required to secure a U.S. purchaser to avoid facing another shutdown.

In a Truth Social post on Sunday morning, Trump floated the idea of the U.S. government taking a 50% ownership stake in TikTok, with the remaining portion sold to a private buyer.
