The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit revealed on Thursday evening that it has intercepted dozens of missiles and over 100 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched by Houthi forces targeting Israel since the onset of the Swords of Iron War.

“Since the beginning of the war, the IDF has been defending the State of Israel from attacks and threats on multiple fronts,” the statement emphasized.

In recent months, the Houthi-controlled regime in Yemen has carried out numerous aerial assaults against Israel, employing both surface-to-surface missiles and UAVs. This regime operates as a significant proxy for Iran in the region, contributing to regional instability and threatening international shipping lanes.

Since the conflict began, approximately 40 surface-to-surface missiles have been fired from Yemen toward Israel. The IDF’s Aerial Defense Array successfully intercepted most of these missiles before they could reach Israeli territory. Thus far, a single projectile has been confirmed to have landed, while two interceptions resulted in fragments falling within the area. The remaining missile launches failed mid-flight.

In addition, the Houthis have sent around 320 UAVs toward Israel, over 100 of which have been neutralized by the Israeli Air Force. So far, only two UAVs have managed to cause any significant impact.

The remainder of the drones either crashed in uninhabited areas, failed to reach Israeli airspace, or did not result in notable harm.

The Israeli Air Force continues to take decisive action to eliminate aerial threats and protect Israel’s citizens.
