Over $2 million in concealed riches are available for discovery after a businessman concealed five treasure chests filled with valuable items throughout the United States, alongside a book of riddles to aid seekers in locating them.

Jon Collins-Black, a successful Bitcoin investor, spent several years curating a collection of valuable treasures, ranging from gold doubloons salvaged from shipwrecks to rare Pokémon cards. His goal was to hide them in undisclosed locations for treasure hunters to discover.

Accompanying this treasure hunt is a book titled There’s Treasure Inside, which contains a variety of riddles, maps, and all the necessary clues to uncover the hidden chests’ locations.

“You don’t have to be a genius to solve the clues. There’s no grand cypher. If you have curiosity, imagination, and the willingness to try something new, you can find the treasures that I’ve hidden,” Collins-Black said.

The items hidden within the chests are tailored to a broad audience, including rare sports memorabilia like Michael Jordan’s 1986 rookie card, as well as gold and historical artifacts in other chests.

Some of the valuables include a diamond and sapphire brooch once owned by Jacqueline Onassis, a fourth-century BCE Greek gold laurel, a coin designed and minted by Pablo Picasso, and a rare piece of lunar rock.

Additionally, among the treasure is a single Bitcoin — currently valued at almost $100,000, with the possibility of its value increasing before the chest is discovered.

Collins-Black has made it clear that none of the chests are hidden in hazardous areas, and they are all placed in accessible locations, not buried underground.

Each chest is located within three miles of a public road, and none are hidden on private property, according to his statements.

“I created this treasure hunt because I live for adventure,” Collins-Black said, reflecting on the project he began during the COVID-19 lockdown.

“I hope to ignite that same sense of wonder and curiosity in everyone who joins this journey,” he added, as reported by WKRC.

Collins-Black follows in the footsteps of other wealthy and eccentric individuals who have concealed treasure and left behind puzzles.

In 2010, New Mexico art dealer Forrest Fenn hid a chest filled with gold and jewels worth approximately $2 million somewhere in the Rocky Mountains, releasing a poem with clues to its whereabouts. For a decade, the treasure remained elusive, and at least five individuals died searching for it, until Fenn made a surprise announcement in June 2020, claiming it had been found. However, Fenn never disclosed the identity of the finder, and his death shortly afterward left some questioning whether the treasure had truly been recovered.
