Megyn Kelly launched a fierce attack on Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, the hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” after they revealed they had met with President-elect Donald Trump in Florida. Kelly, who hosts a conservative podcast, didn’t hold back, referring to the couple as “dishonest jokes” and “faux journalists.”

“Go [profanity],” Kelly fired off in a direct message to Scarborough and Brzezinski. “Go [profanity], you dishonest jokes of faux journalists.”

She labeled the meeting a “farce,” expressing disbelief over the couple’s claims that their meeting with Trump had been personal, especially considering their harsh criticism of him for months leading up to his win against Vice President Kamala Harris.

The pair, who have been slammed from both the left and the right, were criticized for having called Trump a racist and fascist before he triumphed in the election. Scarborough, 61, and Brzezinski, 57, had long been outspoken against the president, but their sudden shift in tone left many wondering about their true motivations.

Kelly reminded her audience that Scarborough and Brzezinski had been complicit in boosting Trump’s candidacy in 2015, when he was still a presidential hopeful. She played a clip of Scarborough at the time expressing interest in being Trump’s running mate—before they turned on him. “It is nauseating, it’s so stomach-turning,” Kelly said, speaking with journalist Glenn Greenwald. “They’re so disgusting.”

She went further, suggesting that Scarborough’s anger toward Trump came after he was rejected for the vice-presidential spot. “He had been rejected for that position and they turned, they turned on Trump because access to power is everything to that small, little man,” Kelly claimed.

Kelly then took aim at the pair’s support for President Biden, pointing out that despite questions surrounding Biden’s cognitive health ahead of the disastrous June debate with Trump, Scarborough and Brzezinski continued to back him. “Literally no one wants to see this fence mended,” Kelly remarked, referring to the renewed communication between Scarborough and Trump.

In their defense of the meeting with Trump, Brzezinski explained that the incoming president’s controversies didn’t stop voters from supporting him over Harris. “Joe and I realize it’s time to do something different, and that starts with not only talking about Donald Trump, but also talking with him,” she said.

Scarborough, too, weighed in, asserting, “Don’t be mistaken, we are not here to defend or normalize Donald Trump” during the broadcast.
