President-elect Donald Trump confirmed that his administration plans to declare a national emergency regarding the surge in border crossings and intends to utilize military resources to implement his promised “largest deportation force” in history.

This announcement came via a Truth Social post from Trump’s account on Monday morning, where he referred to a tweet from Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch, who had speculated about these actions, as “true.”

“GOOD NEWS: Reports are the incoming @RealDonaldTrump administration prepared to declare a national emergency and will use military assets to reverse the Biden invasion through a mass deportation program,” Fitton stated in the Truth Social post, which Trump confirmed.

During his third presidential campaign, Trump made border control and legal immigration key focal points, consistently pledging to establish the “largest deportation force” the world has ever seen. There had been concerns from left-wing critics about the potential use of the military on U.S. soil, but Trump maintained during his campaign that securing the border is a matter of national security.

Trump has strongly criticized the practice of releasing prisoners from Latin American countries, calling it a factor driving migration to the U.S., and has emphasized the risks posed by migrants with criminal backgrounds, stating that these individuals would be the first to be deported.

To further strengthen his border security plans, Trump has appointed former ICE Director Tom Homan as his border czar and nominated South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, a Republican, to head the Department of Homeland Security.
