On Motzei Shabbos, army radio reported that a flare was fired at Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu’s house in Caesarea.
No injuries or damages were reported, and a police investigation into the incident has begun.
According to KAN News, no one in the Netanyahu family was home at the time of the incident.
Reacting to the news, National Unity Party Leader Benny Ganz posted on X, saying: “Firing flares at the Prime Minister’s house is extremely serious, and I strongly condemn it. I am sure that the Shin Bet and the Israel Police will lay hands on the perpetrators, and I call on them to bring them to justice.”
Opposition Leader Yair Lapid also condemned the incident, saying, “I expect the police to find the culprits and bring them to justice.”
Israeli President Yitzchak Herzog issued a swift condemnation, saying he spoke with the head of the Shin Bet about the incident.
“The head of the Shin Bet emphasized that this is a dangerous escalation and noted that the investigation by the Shin Bet and the police is being carried out with the utmost seriousness,” said Herzog.
Meanwhile Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister, Yariv Levin, said: “The time has come to provide full support for the restoration of the judicial system and law enforcement systems.
There was no need for the flares fired tonight at the Prime Minister’s house to understand the seriousness of the rampant violence and the refusal of those who are trying to dismantle the country from within.”
This flare incident comes a month after Hezbollah fired a drone which hit Netanyahu’s home.
