The IDF has released information about the loss of Lieutenant Ivri Dickshtein, 21, from Elazar, who died in combat in southern Lebanon.

Originally from Eli, a town in the Binyamin region, and a resident of Elazar in Gush Etzion, Ivri served as a platoon leader within the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade.

During the incident that took Lieutenant Dickshtein’s life, a fellow officer in the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade was critically wounded.

The injured officer was immediately transported to a hospital, where he is now receiving medical care. His family has been informed.

Ivri, who had been married to Miriam for just over a year, is survived by his wife, parents, and five siblings.

His father, Ilan, holds the rank of Colonel in the reserves, leading the Etzioni Brigade and having previously commanded the elite Golani Reconnaissance Unit.

In a heartfelt eulogy, Binyamin Regional Governor Israel Ganz reflected, “We lost Ivri, a combat officer, one of Binyamin’s best children, who grew up and was educated here. He fought like a hero and fell defending the nation and the land. Our hearts go out to Ivri’s wife, his parents, Ilan and Zipporah, and the entire family. We send support to the residents of Eli. The community of Eli and the other communities of Binyamin are at the spearhead of the war and pay a painful price for the revival of Israel in its land.”
