It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rabbanit Masuda Halioua a”h, beloved mother of Hagaon Rav Shlomo Chai Dovid Yitzchok Halioua zt”l, the rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin in Brooklyn, New York, just hours after her son’s shocking petirah earlier today.

Rabbanit Halioua was the devoted wife of Rav Avraham Halioua, who emigrated from Morocco to the United States and served as a distinguished rov in Flatbush. Together, they built a family known for its dedication to Torah, chesed, and the preservation of their cherished mesorah.

Rav Avraham was niftar several decades ago.

Mrs. Halioua was steadfast in her values and hashkafos, raising a family that carried on the rich traditions of their heritage with great devotion and mesirus nefesh.

Her petirah coming the night after her illustrious son’s sudden and devastating passing is a compounded tragedy that has left family, friends and acquaintances numb with sadness.

She leaves behind a legacy of Torah and mitzvos through her children, her daughters, Rebbetzin Esther Soleimani and Mrs. Chavie Schur, and her grandchildren.

The levayah will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Shomrei Hadas Chapels, located at 3803 14th Avenue in Brooklyn, NY, following the levayah of her son, Rav Shlomo zt”l, which will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Yeshivas Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin in Flatbush.

Yehi zichrah boruch.
