It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Mrs. Pearl Kaufman a”h at the age of 87.

A longtime resident of Lawrence, NY, Mrs. Kaufman dedicated her life to the frum community and became a pillar of strength and commitment, particularly in the realm of chinuch.

For over four decades, Mrs. Kaufman was a devoted leader at Be’er Hagolah, the institution known for its life-changing impact on thousands of Russian Jewish children and their families. Her dedication went far beyond a mere role. She invested her heart and soul into the school and its students, offering her guidance, support, and love to help these children forge new paths steeped in Torah and mesorah. Mrs. Kaufman’s legacy at Be’er Hagolah stands as a testament to her unwavering commitment to Hashem’s children.

Mrs. Kaufman was also one of the founding parents of Yeshiva Darchei Torah in Far Rockaway.

Mrs. Kaufman is survived by her sons, R’ Zev Kaufman, R’ Moshe Kaufman, and R’ Yossie Kaufman, and her daughter, Mrs. Rosie Waxman.

The levayah will take place today, Sunday, at 2 p.m. at the Congregation Sons of Israel Holocaust Memorial Chapel, located at 613 Ramsey Avenue in Lakewood, NJ, followed by kevurah at the adjacent Mt. Sinai Cemetery.
