At 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, Israel turned its clocks back by one hour, marking the end of Daylight Saving Time for 2024 and shifting the time to 1:00 a.m.

Standard Time will remain in place across the country until March 28, 2025, when clocks will move forward once more to begin the next Daylight Saving period.

For most mobile devices, this time adjustment happens automatically. However, if your device hasn’t updated, you can switch it manually by going to “Date & Time” in the Settings menu and disabling the automatic date and time feature.

This shift from Daylight Saving Time to Standard Time aims to align daylight hours with the shorter days of winter, allowing for an earlier sunrise, though sunset will fall in the late afternoon. As a result, workdays will start with daylight, but overall daylight hours will be reduced.

The primary drawback of Standard Time is the noticeable reduction in afternoon daylight, which tends to worsen traffic congestion and limits time for outdoor activities and leisure in the evening.
