The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit shared on Monday night that soldiers from the 8th Brigade combat team, operating under the 91st Division, are carrying out ongoing, focused raids based on highly accurate intelligence in southern Lebanon. In collaboration with the Yahalom Unit, they uncovered an extensive underground facility stretching 800 meters, which had been used as a Hezbollah command center for the Radwan Forces.

The underground site contained a variety of materials, including helicopter-fired missiles, mortar shells, motorcycles, living quarters, and provisions for prolonged stays, such as a fully stocked kitchen. Hezbollah had planned to deploy these weapons as part of their “Conquer the Galilee” offensive strategy. The command center was intentionally hidden beneath a civilian area in southern Lebanon, positioning it as a key element in their plan.

During the raid on this compound, the soldiers encountered a terrorist who had taken refuge within the facility. With the assistance of the Israeli Air Force, the terrorist was neutralized. The IDF forces are continuing operations in the region, including probing the tunnel network used for the command center.

IDF Spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari commented: “They were planning, with these motorcycles here, to enter Kiryat Shemona, to Yiftach, to villages and positions inside Israel and conduct a massacre. They were here only a couple of days ago.”
