Four IDF soldiers tragically lost their lives, and seven others were gravely wounded when a UAV detonated in Binyamina, according to information made public late Sunday night.

The UAV, launched by Hezbollah, struck directly in the dining area of the Golani Brigade’s training camp while numerous new recruits were gathered for dinner.

In total, 51 soldiers sustained injuries from the attack, with nine of them categorized as moderately injured. The rest suffered light injuries. All the wounded have been transported to hospitals, and their families have been informed.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit stated, “The incident is being examined. The IDF shares in the grief of the bereaved families and will continue to accompany them.”

Magen David Adom (MDA) provided an update Sunday night, stating that it had treated 61 individuals, including three in serious condition, 18 with moderate injuries, and 31 with minor injuries. Nine others were treated for anxiety.

Rescue teams worked to assist the injured and rushed them to nearby hospitals. Several of the wounded were airlifted to medical centers in central Israel.

Seven individuals were taken to Laniado Hospital in Netanya, five with minor injuries and two suffering from anxiety.

Six others were transported to Haemek Hospital in Afula, with four mildly injured and two treated for anxiety.

Ten people were taken to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera, five in moderate condition and five lightly injured. Three were sent to Rambam Hospital in Haifa, one in critical condition, one in moderate condition, and one lightly injured. Three seriously injured individuals were evacuated to Sheba Hospital, while two suffering from anxiety were transported to Carmel Hospital in Haifa.

Three individuals with anxiety-related symptoms were brought to Bnei Zion Medical Center in Haifa, and three more were taken to Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tikva, including two with moderate injuries and one with minor injuries.

MDA Paramedic Aviv Cohen, who was on-site, described the scene, saying, “We arrived at the scene in large numbers from Magen David Adom, the injured were brought to us, and we began evacuating them via IDF helicopters and ambulances to hospitals. There was a lot of commotion at the scene, and it was a serious event, but we managed to evacuate the injured quickly to hospital for continued medical care.”

MDA Paramedic Rafi Sheva also reported from the site, stating, “This was a very difficult scene; we declared it a mass casualty event and treated patients suffering from blast injuries and shrapnel. The injuries were severe, and we evacuated the injured to hospitals as quickly as possible for further medical treatment.”

According to witnesses, no alarm sounded before the UAV attack. The IAF is currently investigating the reason for the lack of an alert. This incident marks the highest number of casualties in a single event since Hamas’ massacre on October 7, 2023.

An early inquiry indicated that the UAV managed to bypass detection systems, failing to trigger any warnings or interception attempts. A siren that went off at 7:00 p.m. in Talmei Elazar, a nearby location, was unrelated to the UAV attack, and instead was activated due to the interception of a different drone.

The IDF clarified that the UAV did not launch missiles, nor was it of Iranian origin. Some reports identified the UAV as a “Ziyad 107” type, capable of traveling approximately 100 kilometers.

Throughout the war, UAVs of this type breached Israeli airspace on multiple occasions, causing damage to various locations and structures.
