During a counterterrorism operation conducted by the IDF and the Israel Security Agency on Thursday, the Israeli Air Force carried out an airstrike near Tulkarm, successfully neutralizing Muhammad Abdullah, the leader of the Islamic Jihad’s terror faction in Nur Shams. This was confirmed in a joint statement from the IDF and Shin Bet on Friday morning.

In addition to Abdullah, another terrorist was also taken out in the operation.

Abdullah had taken over as the head of the terror network following the death of Muhammad Jabber (also known as Abu Shujaa), who led the same group in Tulkarm. Jabber had been killed by the IDF and Shin Bet on August 29.

According to the IDF, Abdullah had been orchestrating terror activities in the region in recent months and had played a direct role in multiple attacks.

He had also been involved in planting explosive devices targeting IDF soldiers in the Tulkarm area.

Following the operation, IDF soldiers seized M-16 rifles, tactical vests, and the vehicle the terrorists had been using.
