Dutch far-right politician Geert Wilders is advising Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, to secure himself in “a good bunker” for safety.

Wilders’ remark was a direct reply to a post on X by Khamenei, which followed the assassination of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah. In the post, Khamenei asserted, “The Zionist criminals need to know that they are far too weak to be able to inflict any significant damage on the solid structure of Lebanon’s Hezbollah.”

In response, Wilders quipped, “Well, maybe you’d better look for a good bunker.”

Additionally, the Dutch politician reacted to Khamenei’s declaration of a five-day mourning period for Nasrallah. Wilders bluntly stated, “You mourn, we celebrate.”

According to a Reuters report, citing individuals knowledgeable about the situation, Khamenei had been “moved to a safe place with enhanced security measures” after Nasrallah’s killing.

Wilders, a vocal advocate for Israel, is known for his stringent stance on Islam. His political party has, in the past, proposed shutting down mosques and including a call to “ban the Quran” in its platform.

In May, Wilders delivered a fervent pro-Israel speech in the Dutch Parliament.

“Radical Muslims,” he declared, “are out to destroy the Jewish State and kill its inhabitants.” He continued by emphasizing his allegiance: “And for me and my political party, it is not difficult to see with whom we stand in solidarity. Are we with the Jewish people, who are fighting for their existence, or are we with Islamic extremists, terrorist scum who want to exterminate them? And I tell you, until the very end, I support the State of Israel.”

Later, Wilders reached out to Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu to convey his support for Israel and criticize the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) Chief Prosecutor for pursuing arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

“The decision of the ICC prosecutor is ridiculous and wrong, it’s a crime NOT to defend its people against the forces of hate and terror,” Wilders remarked at the time.
