The House Oversight Committee is set to launch its impeachment inquiry into President Biden with a hearing on Thursday featuring three witnesses who will testify about the Bidens’ business dealings.

The witnesses are Eileen O’Connor, a former assistant attorney general in the Department of Justice Tax Division; Jonathan Turley, a law professor at George Washington University; and Bruce Dubinsky, an expert witness in forensic accounting.

Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., the chairman of the Oversight Committee, said in a statement that the hearing will present evidence of “crimes the Bidens may have committed as they brought in millions at the expense of U.S. interests.”

Comer said last week that the first hearing will not cover any new ground, but that the witnesses will help the committee to better understand the Bidens’ business dealings and finances.

O’Connor wrote an op-ed for The Wall Street Journal in July in which she argued that Hunter Biden should be prosecuted for his business dealings.

House Republicans are expected to use the hearing to try to connect Hunter Biden’s overseas business dealings to his father, President Biden. They have testimony that Vice President Biden was on the phone with Hunter Biden at least 20 times over a 10-year period.

Comer has also said that the committee will soon issue subpoenas for the personal bank accounts of President Biden, Hunter Biden, and James Biden, the president’s brother.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., ordered House committees earlier this month to open an impeachment inquiry into President Biden. The House Judiciary and Ways and Means Committees are also involved in the inquiry.

The hearing on Thursday is scheduled for 10 a.m. ET and is titled “The Basis for an Impeachment Inquiry of President Joseph R. Biden, Jr.”
