Senator Ted Cruz strongly criticized President Joe Biden’s decision not to meet with Israel’s Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, describing it as “utterly shameful.” During an appearance on Newsmax’s “Eric Bolling The Balance” on Wednesday, Cruz condemned the Biden administration as the “most profoundly anti-Israel administration our country has ever had.” He accused the administration of consistently undermining the state of Israel and working to weaken its government, expressing his belief that Biden and his administration have a deep disdain for Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Cruz emphasized his admiration for Netanyahu, considering him a historic figure with a keen understanding of the threats faced by both Israel and America, comparing him to Winston Churchill. He pointed out the administration’s rush to provide Iran with significant financial resources while Iran pursues nuclear weapons, noting that Netanyahu opposes lifting sanctions and granting Iran a financial windfall. Cruz expressed his dismay that the Biden administration has made it clear that Netanyahu is not welcome at the White House, considering it incredibly detrimental to both Israel and the United States to deny a meeting with a democratic ally.

“At every level, they have systematically undermined the state of Israel. They have systematically worked to weaken the government of Israel,” Cruz stated. “Joe Biden and his administration despises Prime Minister Netanyahu.”

“I believe Prime Minister Netanyahu is a historic figure, I’ve told him this before, I think he has a Churchillian sense of the gravity as to the threats facing Israel and the threats facing America,” Cruz said.

Furthermore, Cruz took issue with an administration policy that he claims supports the boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement targeting Israel’s occupation of territories in the West Bank. He accused the Biden administration of aligning itself with the radical and antisemitic left that harbors animosity towards Israel, citing the administration’s obstruction of scientific funds for cancer research in Israel as an example. The senator referred to the Department of State’s guidance that engaging in scientific and technological cooperation with Israel in the West Bank is inconsistent with U.S. foreign policy, suggesting that it reflects the administration’s stance. Cruz argued that this guidance, along with the alleged influence of antisemitic attacks by progressive groups like “The Squad” in the Democratic Party, is disgraceful and deeply troubling.

“The Biden administration is now blocking scientific funds for cancer research in Israel because they’ve handed their agenda over to the radical, antisemitic left who hates Israel,” Cruz said.

“And to see the president of the United States wrapping his arms around the extreme BDS movement is disgraceful.”

A Pentagon spokesperson clarified that the guidance reflects the long-standing U.S. position and its commitment to working towards a negotiated two-state solution for peaceful coexistence between Israel and a viable Palestinian state. Cruz accused “The Squad” and segments of the Democratic Party of succumbing to antisemitic sentiments and shaping Biden’s agenda, stating that they have given in to the fervor of these groups.

“What’s happened under Biden is that they’ve given in to the antisemitic fervor of ‘The Squad,’” he said.
