According to a report by RealClearPolitics on Friday, former President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign is reportedly shunning anyone who works for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Justin Caporale, who is in charge of the advance team for Trump, has allegedly sent out the message that anyone who worked for DeSantis during his book tour will be deemed “persona non grata.” A “top Trump ally” stated that the blackballing would not be restricted to junior staff who assisted with setting up chairs and banners at DeSantis’ events. The source reportedly stated that anyone who works for DeSantis’ presidential race will not work for the Trump campaign or in the Trump White House. The reported ban comes as tensions escalate between Trump, who has announced his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election, and DeSantis, who has not declared his White House bid but is believed to be Trump’s primary competition in the Republican primary. Trump has been increasingly critical of DeSantis for the past few days, particularly in a statement this week where he referred to the governor as “average” and more adept at public relations than governing.
