A delay of an Israeli Arkia flight led to dozens of Jews spending Shabbos in Paris with no kosher food or other necessities.

Etty, a mother of three small children, said she was stuck without diapers or clean clothing, and an elderly father out of medicine.

“Unfortunately, due to a technical problem, the Arkia flight from Paris, which was scheduled to take off yesterday evening from Paris to Tel Aviv, was postponed,” the airline said. “Upon learning of the malfunction, the passengers were placed in hotels at Arkia’s expense.”

Secular passengers were offered an alternative flight on Shabbos, while shomer Shabbos passengers were provided a special flight with kosher food on Motzoei Shabbos.

Arkia is Israel’s last mechallel Shabbos airline since Israir began observing Shabbos in 2021.
