News of a father-of-five made waves this month after he was given a potential lifetime sentence in prison for a crime that he did not commit. Rabbonim have kept most details private in order to protect his family’s privacy during this difficult time, and publicly request that readers come forth and donate generously towards bail and lawyer fees to prevent this sentence from becoming a tragic reality. The man’s horrified family is struggling to conjure the $150,000 needed for bail and are grateful to Rav Daniel Belsky who is advocating fiercely to raise the funds urgently needed for his release. According to Rav Belsky the man wasn’t in the best of health to begin with, and now that he is in prison, his life is now in danger. “If we don’t raise the funds soon, an innocent father of five will perish in prison,” reads an urgent update on the chesed fund page. “We call on every member of Klal Yisroel to donate towards his immediate release, for every second his health is failing.  In the following weeks, a husband and father’s story will end. Whether the ending will be a happy or tragic one, however, has yet to be seen. If the sum is raised, he will be able to return to his family and receive urgently-needed medical treatment. If the total is not raised, his future, and the future of his family’s, looks grim. Those who are interested in partaking in the rare mitzvah of ‘pidyon shvuyim’ (releasing a Jewish captive) can join the family’s desperate mission to reach their goal before it’s too late.  CLICK HERE TO DONATE CLICK HERE TO SEE THE FULL CAMPAIGN
