Every Torah observant Jew who does not live in the Eretz Yisroel knows the problem.  He is facing a crossroads in his life, the child makes a Shidduch, the family is about to expand … At such a time all he or she wants is a blessing or good advice from HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlit”a. Maran Sar HaTorah. But what can be done?  Can I ask for a blessing from R’ Chaim without ‘ties’ and without donating to certain charities? For this purpose, a special site was established by the organization “Orchot Yosher” – the organization of Mussar, which was established by R’ Chaim himself and is managed by his close grandson – Rabbi Aryeh Kanievsky.  On the site you can submit names and urgent questions, Rabbi Aryeh asks his grandfather, and returns answers to the questioning public. Since the site was established, thousands of inquiries have been made through it!!  The excited reactions of the public who received a response through the site, reinforces the understanding that this was a mandatory function! In a conversation we had with Rabbi David, the site’s technical operator, he tells us about the types of referrals: “Most of the messages are names for sick people for a blessing, and requests for good medical advice,” says Rabbi David and continues, “There are many who ask for blessing for Shidduchim and for healthy children. There are quite a few questions about naming babies that are born. “ In addition, the site also has stories and instructions from Maran Shlita, photos and videos, downloadable Mussar Seforim and much more.
